Italian Flavor

"Tuscan View" - oil on canvas, 30 x 24 in

Wouldn't it be nice to have a glass of wine looking down the vineyards of Tuscany? Or ...

How about a gondola ride in Venice?

  1. Peter,
Thanks for all your kind words and comments on my blog. You have a tremendous talent with perspective. You are right on! You had asked if I did an underpainting with burnt sienna. Actually I tone my canvases with red or yellow oxide. Then I do an underpainting with a dark neutral. These are tricks I learned from Laurel Daniels, and they seem to serve me well.
    Keep up the beautiful work.

  2. Ok, you've officially increased my yearning to get on a plane and go somewhere! lol. Wonderful paintings. I was in Tuscany and Venice when I was in college many moons ago, and have been longing to go back ever since! Lovely work, Peter.

  4. Great job, Peter! A glass of wine in Tuscany sounds pretty good. You've got a great sense of perspective in both of these paintings.
