"Tuscan View" - oil on canvas, 30 x 24 in
"Venice-scape" - oil on canvas, 24 x 30 in
Peter,Thanks for all your kind words and comments on my blog. You have a tremendous talent with perspective. You are right on! You had asked if I did an underpainting with burnt sienna. Actually I tone my canvases with red or yellow oxide. Then I do an underpainting with a dark neutral. These are tricks I learned from Laurel Daniels, and they seem to serve me well.Keep up the beautiful work.
Ok, you've officially increased my yearning to get on a plane and go somewhere! lol. Wonderful paintings. I was in Tuscany and Venice when I was in college many moons ago, and have been longing to go back ever since! Lovely work, Peter.
checking out your blog. Wonderful touch and I like the way you are handling some difficult subjects. Great compositions. Great still lifes.
Great job, Peter! A glass of wine in Tuscany sounds pretty good. You've got a great sense of perspective in both of these paintings.
Very nice paintings! (I noticed you have me listed under your favorite blogs-- I am honored!!)
I haven't managed to come over for a couple of days - but, oh what a treat! Beautifully painted - and they make me want to travel:)
