I like the composition, Peter. I think your color analysis and observation of light and shadow is even more superb in your more recent "still life with toothbrush" and "Three lemons.." This is a charming set-up, and I like the homage to Vermeer! :-)
Watercolor was my first love.
I used to bring in a small watercolor set and paint in my car during my break.
And painted local scenery for over ten years.
There were times when I painted watercolor en plein air and sold my work to morning joggers, lunch time pass-byers and evening walkers everyday.
Then switched to oil and painted about ten years.
Now I'm back to watercolor and still love it.
It's like an old friend who greets me after all these years, warm, cheerful, spontaneous and surprising!
Wow.... this has a lot of detail and are all these things your own?

ReplyDeleteReally nice composition, Peter. And the lettering through the glass vase is awesome! Thanks so much for your visit to my blog. :)
ReplyDeletePeter, You did such a great job with the roses. Flowers are so difficult to do.
